Updated: Sep 4, 2020

8 80 Cities has added Jordana Wright, a placemaking innovator and the Managing Director and founder of Activate Space, to its Board of Directors. As a board member, Ms. Wright will work alongside senior leadership to help guide the global parks, streets, and public space improvement organization's future.

Wright is known for establishing one of the first dedicated placemaking and community development practices focused on social purpose real estate, Activate Space, and helping urban institutions facing property-related challenges reach sustainability while expanding their social impact. Jordana has leveraged her deep understanding of processes of city building to tackle complex projects for century-old churches experiencing shrinking congregations, retailers with storefronts under stress, and homeowners looking to simplify their lives through estate and downsizing solutions.

"8 80 Cities is a standout city builder with experienced and highly collaborative leadership," said Wright. "I share their commitment to creating dynamic places for all and investing in ambitious new urban improvement projects both within the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area and internationally."
